Hey there! Thanks for stopping by my site. I’m Maxwell James, the founder of Max’s Imagination, LLC. I first fell in love with editing at San Diego High School where I was fortunate enough to study IB Film for two years. After graduating with an IB Diploma I moved across the country to Boston where I majored in Film Production and Snow Appreciation. So much snow! I hold a BA in Film Production from Emerson College.
I now work as a full-time freelancer editor, editing for a steady stream of clients who create educational, promotional, and lifestyle videos as well as documentary feature-length films and narrative shorts. I also have extensive experience working with YouTubers, editing social media video packages that are formatted to standards for rollout on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, IGTV, Twitter, and Snapchat. Previously I spent time at WGBH in Boston editing a television series, at an independent post-production house that does web series and commercial work, working as a documentarian, editing broadcast news for TheCW, and cable news for OAN. Check out my reel!
I conduct most of my editing and color correction using Adobe Premiere Pro. I know my way around Photoshop and Illustrator. I can create animations for intros/outros, titles, lower thirds, etc. using Adobe After Effects. I’m also familiar with Adobe Audition for sound work. And, I’m Avid Certified.
Whether I’m working collaboratively as part of a creative team or closely with a single individual, I bring enthusiasm and dedication to a project. I realize and respect the need to hit deadlines. Because your satisfaction with the final product is of utmost importance, I value direction. But I also enjoy the art of editing and will bring a balance of technical skill and, of course, imagination.
